Tamsen Fadal Bio:
Tamsen Fadal is a 12-time Emmy award-winning journalist and primetime anchor for the PIX11 News in New York at 5, 6 and 10pm. Tamsen is the executive producer and host of Broadway Profiles and a three-time author.
CAREER
With more than two decades of experience, she has covered local, national and international stories including Hurricane Sandy, the Metro North train derailment, the Columbia Shuttle crash, the London bombings and the war on terror. In 2020, Tamsen traveled to Tanzania with UNICEF to document its work and impact on children and families. In 2002, Tamsen traveled to Afghanistan and was embedded with the American troops during the war. Additionally, Tamsen reported during Operation Enduring Freedom from Air Force bases in London and Germany. Her career has taken her across the country while working for WCBS-TV, KYW-TV, WFTV-TV, WOWK-TV and WHNZ-AM.

Tamsen is also the host and executive producer of Broadway Profiles with Tamsen Fadal, the first nationally syndicated Broadway entertainment program to reach theater fans throughout the country. Broadway Profiles, in partnership with the John Gore Organization, is a New York Emmy Award-winning entertainment show with unprecedented access to A-list celebrities, Broadway’s biggest stars, shows, tours and behind-the-scenes stories on and off the stage. Beginning in Fall 2020, the show will increase frequency to air weekly.

Passionate about the arts and theater, she made her Broadway debut in “Chicago” the musical in January 2010, followed by on-stage debuts in Broadway’s “In the Heights” and “Rock of Ages.”

In addition to her work in television, Tamsen is the author of three books, and is currently at work on her fourth. Her most recent, The New Single, Finding, Fixing and Falling Back in Love with Yourself, seeks to help women emerge from a big life change with confidence, grace, and a recipe for self-care. Tamsen is a voice for women through her work as a journalist, author and motivational and inspirational speaker.

RECOGNITION

Tamsen is the recipient of 12 Emmy Awards including three for Best On-Camera Talent, and Best Host for her national Broadway Profiles show. She has also garnered Emmys for hosting the Political News Special “Remembering Ed Koch,” Arts Programming for “Backstage on Broadway” theater series and Hurricane Sandy coverage “Hell and High Water.”

Tamsen received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor from the Ellis Island Honor Society (EIHS) in 2016. The Medal has been officially recognized by both Houses of Congress as one of our nation’s most prestigious awards and is annually memorialized in the Congressional Record.

Tamsen was named a “Power Woman” by Moves Magazine in 2015 for her work both on-air and in the community.

In 2014 she was selected to receive the Soldiers’, Sailors’, Marines’, Coast Guard and Airmen’s Club Media Award for her work overseas with our troops. Tamsen received a Broadcast Journalism award by the National Air Disaster Foundation [NADF] post-9/11, for contributions leading to improved aviation safety. Tamsen was named the 2004 Outstanding Young Alumnus Award Recipient by the University of South Florida.

PHILANTHROPY

Tamsen lost her mother to breast cancer in 1990 and has been a long-time advocate of educating women and their families about this devastating disease, giving all women a chance at early detection, regardless of means.

In addition to her work with UNICEF, Tamsen is very involved in a range of charitable organizations, she is the Honorary Vice Chair of the ADAPT Community Network Board, Board Member of Best Buddies New York, spokesperson for SHARE Cancer Support, host of Ackerman Institute for the Family, Moving Families Forward Gala and a celebrity ambassador for North Shore Animal League.

In 2011, she co-founded Shansen Jewelry, alongside her cousin, actress Shannon Elizabeth with a portion of all proceeds going to animal rescue and breast cancer charities.

Tamsen, a Lebanese-American, is passionate about empowering women and has appeared on The Talk, the Today Show, Good Morning America, CBS Early Show, HLN, The Insider, Lifetime and A&E in support of this mission.

Born in Concord, Mass., Tamsen graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. She currently lives in New York City.
